June
What a month it has been with some very interesting weather patterns and the resulting fish behavior. The trout anglers have had their hands full with heavy hatches at times and the fish are well fed! Evenings have been best for the dry fly fisherperson, but I have seen a few stunning fish taken in the off hours. Sitting and watching can really pay off for the patient angler. Brown Drakes have begun and there are sulphurs, mahogonys, stones, caddis and terrestrial action in the mix. I would look for the Iso’s to begin in the next week or two.
On to Bass
It has been awesome! Topwater action is well underway and our new wiggle minnow bodies are being put to the test. The streamer bite is even stronger and we have done well fishing crayfish slowly or tossing 4-6 inch streamers and retrieving them with a fast jerk. Water temps in our area range from 65-to the mid 70’s.
